Bundled skill validation fails with missing yaml
Source: Troubleshooting reference
Symptom: quick_validate.py exits with ModuleNotFoundError: No module named 'yaml' before validating a skill.
Root cause: The bundled validator imports PyYAML using the plain python3
environment. PyYAML was absent from the managed interactive library manifest.
Confirm: python3 -c 'import yaml; print(yaml.__version__)'.
Fix: PyYAML is now declared in packages/python.txt; install/python.sh
installs it alongside SymPy and the public runtime verifier checks both imports.
For an isolated invocation using a different Python, run
uv run --with pyyaml /path/to/quick_validate.py /path/to/skill.
